Important points to consider when buying a lift.
When you are looking to purchase a lift you may know exactly what you are looking for, if so you can just scroll on by! If this is your first lift purchase here are some points in more detail to help you make your decision.
1. Garage Dimensions. It may sound obvious but have a thorough look at your garage/bay dimensions before you purchase your lift. Make sure you have adequate ceiling height to allow room for the vehicle when lifted to full height and also the working room around the lift, to allow you to move freely and access tools, etc.
2. Weight Capacity -
3. Symmetric or Assymetric. Be sure you know the weight of the vehicles you want to lift and select a lift accordingly. That could also dictate whether you will want a symmetric or asymmetric lift.
4. Concrete needs a compression strength of at least 3,000 PSI and a minimum thickness of 5" in order to achieve a minimum anchor embedment of 3-1/4” for the smaller lifts.
5. Will you need any lift accessories? Will you need a jacking beam/rolling jack, pads, etc. We will cover these in more detail in a further post. All good food for thought when buying your lift.
